25 Tons of Clay Free for 17 Idol Makers, Free Space for Two.
Workshops to Promote Eco-Friendly Ganesh Idols.
Thane Municipal Corporation has provided 25 tons of free clay to 17 idol makers in the city. Additionally, free space has been allocated for two idol makers to encourage the creation of eco-friendly Ganesh idols from natural clay.
Under the theme “Majhe Ghar, Majha Ganpati” (My Home, My Ganpati), workshops are being organized to teach the making of idols using clay. These workshops aim to promote environmental awareness during the Ganesh festival.
The Environmental Department, with support from social organizations, is leading this initiative. Citizens are encouraged to participate and support this eco-friendly movement.
On June 14, a special idol-making workshop will be held at the Gaodevi Stadium. More than 100 citizens have already created idols from clay in previous sessions. Officials expect the number of workshops and participants to increase this year.
Authorities have urged residents to join these efforts to protect the environment while celebrating the festival with devotion.
