Three Parties Unite Against Shinde Group in Thane

The Shinde group made an attempt to set up a health center at the Nana-Nani park in Sant Dnyaneshwar Nagar, Thane. In retaliation, the Thackeray group, BJP, and MNS staged a strong protest claiming that the location is unsuitable for a health center.

Local residents had previously met with BJP MLA Sanjay Kelkar to register their complaints, citing the presence of two toilets and a large drain nearby as reasons  why the site was inappropriate for a medical facility. Kelkar has explicitly instructed department officials not to touch the park and suggested to provide more funds for an upgrade.

A major confrontation broke out between the workers of the two factions. When the truck arrived with the container, locals blocked it, turning the whole incident into a physical scuffle. While the presence of a large police force prevented any major untoward incident, the people remained highly tensed.
