Health Department Launches Mobile Health Service for Pregnant Women and Infants.

“Kilkari” Service Provides Timely Health Information to Expectant Mothers and Newborns.

The Maharashtra Health Department has introduced a mobile health service called “Kilkari” to provide essential health information to pregnant women and infants. The service aims to improve the health and well-being of mothers and children by offering timely guidance on various aspects of healthcare.

Under this initiative, registered women receive a series of 72 voice messages on their mobile phones, covering topics such as pregnancy care, nutrition, immunization, and infant health. The messages are designed to be informative and easy to understand, helping women make informed decisions about their health and their child’s health.

The “Kilkari” service has been well-received, with over 3.47 lakh women benefiting from it so far. The Health Department plans to continue and expand this service to reach more women across the state, promoting better health outcomes for mothers and children. By leveraging mobile technology, the department aims to bridge the gap in healthcare access and provide critical information to those who need it most.
