Ganpati Mandals Protest DJ Ban in Thane.

Ganesh Mandals in Thane are unhappy with the DJ music ban during visarjan (immersion) processions. They argue that if DJs are allowed during Dahi Handi, why ban them for Ganpati visarjan?

The Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) says the ban is for safety and crowd control. But Mandals feel it spoils the festive vibe. Many are now demanding that the rule be reversed.

TMC has planned alternate immersion spots in Kalwa and Mumbra to ease crowding. They also need over 1,000 extra workers to manage the visarjan day rush and are reaching out to retired staff and NGOs.

Still, the DJ ban is a major concern, and the issue may heat up as the festival nears.
