Flowers Become Costlier Ahead of Festivals.

The prices of flowers have surged in the wholesale market in anticipation of upcoming festivals such as Shravani Somwar, Krishna Janmashtami, and Independence Day. The demand for flowers, particularly marigold and other seasonal blooms, has led to a significant increase in prices.

The wholesale market has witnessed a 20-30% rise in flower prices over the past 20 days. Marigold, a staple for various religious and cultural ceremonies, is now being sold at ₹20 to ₹30 per kilogram, while Gulmohar flowers are priced at ₹120 per kilogram. Other flowers like Gulab and Pivla are also being sold at premium rates.

The increase in demand is attributed to the upcoming festivals, during which flowers are used for decorations and rituals. The prices are expected to remain high until the festivals are over. The article highlights the impact of the surge in demand on the prices of flowers in the wholesale market, affecting consumers and vendors alike.
