Finals for Applied Clouds, Semis for RBI

Two matches were held today in Mumbai and Thane for the Thane Vaibhav Inter-Office Cricket Tournament. In the group ‘C’ match at Dadoji Kondadev Stadium in Thane, Applied Cloud Computing defeated Zee TV by 12 runs and entered the finals.

Meanwhile, in the Group ‘A’ match at Cross Maidan in Mumbai, the RBI team defeated Group Satellite Developers by 23 runs to secure a spot in the semi-finals. Vaibhav Mujage took three wickets, and Sohan Talekar took four wickets, and they were named ‘Man of the Match’ in their respective games. 

 

Applied Clouds vs. Zee TV

Sumit Sharma scored a high of 53 runs in the first inning after Zee TV won the toss and chose to field

. Other contributors included Arjun Dhiman (32), Samrudh Vyavahare (28), Vaibhav Mujage (23), and Ajinkya Pawar (23). Aided by 30 extra runs, Applied Clouds reached a total of 237 for 8. 

M.D. Amir and Agraye from Zee TV took two wickets each. In the second inning, Zee TV’s batsmen made a strong effort to chase the target but were restricted to 225 runs. Tanishq Gavate top-scored with 62 runs, followed by Rutvik Pednekar (44), Hamza Khan (35), and Karandikar (34).

 

RBI vs Group Satellite

RBI Sports Club was bowled out for 160 runs. Mridul Manohar top-scored with 44 runs. Vishal Yadav and Shamit Shetty from Group Satellite took three wickets each, while Vicky Dugalach took two. 

RBI bowlers maintained a tight line and length, stifling the batsmen and restricting Group Satellite to chasing the target of 160. Sohan Talekar and Sairaj Nair from RBI took 4 wickets for 30 runs and 3 wickets for 22 runs, respectively, bowling out Group Satellite for 137 runs. Prajwal Rai (Group Satellite) was the lone fighter with 53 runs, and Sarvesh Patil (Group Satellite) had 31 runs.

RBI won by 23 runs and advanced to the semi-finals.
