Devotion Peaks in Kopri

The Chaitra Navratri festival has commenced in Thane amidst an atmosphere of enthusiasm and devotion. Organised through Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde at the Sant Tukaram Ground in Kopri, Thane East, the “Dharamveer Shri Anand Dighe Pratishthan” kicked off the first day with devotional music programmes. 

Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde performed the Pranpratishtha and Puja of the Goddess in the afternoon. He was joined by his family, Lata Shinde, MP Dr. Shrikant Shinde, and Vrushali Shinde.

In the evening, the Mayor of Thane, Sharmila Pimpalkar, performed the Aarti of the Goddess. Notable attendees included Shiv Sena Kalyan District Chief Gopal Landge, Additional Commisioner of Thane Municipal Corporation Sandeep Malvi, and various Shiv Sena office bearers and activists.

Renowned actors Varsha Usgaonkar, Alka Kubal, and Mangesh Desai. A “Mata Ki Chowki” was organised on the third day and inaugurated by Eknath Shinde. The event also featured a musical tribute that featured ‘Ude ga Ambe Ude,’ performed by an all-women ensemble of famous singers like Dhanashree Deshpande, Ketaki Bhave-Joshi, and Ketaki Chaitanya. 

Shiv Sena Secretary Sanjay More and former Mayor Meenakshi Shinde also attended the ceremony, along with a gathering of devotees.
