Dombivli Athletes Shine in World Rope Skipping Championship.
Young athletes from Dombivli have made the city proud by winning multiple medals at the World Rope Skipping Championship held in Kawasak, Japan. The event took place from July 27 to August 3, 2025, where the Maharashtra team bagged 3 gold, 8 silver, and 5 bronze medals, making a total of 16 medals.
The championship witnessed participation from 2,600 athletes representing 36 countries. Notably, the Dombivli players had earlier won medals in the 2023 World Championship in the USA and the 2024 Asian Championship.
Despite limited government support, the athletes prepared rigorously under the guidance of coach Arti Apte. Medal winners include Shantanu Nakhate (2 silver, 1 bronze), Manas Mungi (1 silver, 1 bronze), Ronak Samble (1 silver), Parole Jankar (1 bronze), and Padhashi Mokashi (1 bronze). Additionally, the teams secured 10 medals in the 16-18 and 19+ age categories.
The athletes expressed gratitude to their coach and supporters for making this success possible.
