Raksha Bandhan Boosts ST Revenue to ₹137.37 Crore.
Mumbai’s State Transport Sees Significant Surge in Earnings During Festival.
Mumbai witnessed a substantial increase in State Transport (ST) revenue during the Raksha Bandhan festival. From August 8 to 11, the ST buses carried a large number of passengers, resulting in earnings of ₹137.37 crore. Notably, on August 11 alone, the ST generated ₹39 crore in revenue, marking it as the highest daily earnings for the year.
Transport Minister Pratap Sarnaik attributed the surge in revenue to the heavy passenger traffic during the festival period. The ST buses were packed with travelers visiting their families, leading to a significant increase in earnings. The revenue generated during this period was the highest in recent years, highlighting the importance of the festival in boosting the ST’s financial performance.
