Where Thane Gets its Kimchi From?

If you have been searching the streets of Thane for a perfect jar of spicy kimchi or the viral ramen you saw on your Instagram feed, your effort ends here. Bombay Gourmet, founded by Anita Bidnurkar, is an exclusive store born out of a love for food. Bidnurkar, originally in IT, decided to travel the world and pursue her passion for food. The store specialises in importing unique Korean goods that are rarely found in standard groceries. The shelves are stocked with authentic kimchi, gochujang, mochi, and a wide variety of ramen. Every year, they host an annual K-Food Summer Fest. This year, they have a live ramen stand, where you can cook your ramen to take with you on the go. Korean and Japanese trends are on the rise in the newer generation. Every time we watch the characters in a K-drama eating an alluring food item, our mind often wonders, “Where can I find that?” The store makes it convenient to bring the Korean ingredients to the pantries of Thane. They also offer packed drinks with the complementary ice cups that are a viral sensation on social media. Although the kimchi is a major win, the store also stocks some premium Indian brands from states like Karnataka and grounds itself in nostalgia with the classic ‘90s nostalgic chocolate boxes featuring Mango bites and Poppins. Whether you are a toddler or an elder, Bombay Gourmet has carved out a niche for the global flavours in Thane.
