Vehicle Thieves Caught; 28 Motorcycles Recovered
In a major crackdown on vehicle theft in cities like Bhiwandi, Ambernath, Mumbai, and Pune, police in Thane have arrested a gang of motorcycle thieves. Authorities have recovered 28 motorcycles worth approximately ₹18 lakh from the accused.
The arrested individuals include Atul Khandagale from Pune, Shekhar Pawar from Jalgaon, Aakash Nasrangadh from Kalyan, and Ghazi Hussain. During the operation, police from Kalyan and Bhiwandi crime branches apprehended the thieves with solid evidence. The accused admitted to stealing motorcycles in areas under Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Thane city, and rural Thane police jurisdictions.
Police Commissioner Amarkumar Jadhav briefed the press about the recovery, stating the total value of the seized motorcycles is ₹17,89,899. The operation was conducted by the Kalyan and Bhiwandi crime branch police.
