Thane East Opens First Public Pickleball Court

MLAs Sanjay Kelkar and Niranjan Davkhare open new sports hub at People’s Education Society.

Pickleball is rapidly gaining popularity in the city. MLA Sanjay Kelkar and MLA Niranjan Davkhare grandly inaugurated a newly constructed pickleball court in the Thane East area to promote the sport. The People’s Education Society and the Dronacharya Sports Academy have jointly implemented this initiative.

This is considered the first significant court that will be easily accessible to common athletes. Built through the initiative of the Thane Pickleball Association, this project will provide quality facilities to players.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by notable individuals from the sports and social sectors, including President of the People’s Education Society, Vidyadhar Vaishampayan; Secretary Aalhad Joshi; President of the Thane Pickleball Association, Manohar Dumbare; Secretary Sachin More; Subhas Kale; Directors Bhole and Turukmane; and Medha Bhandare.

The dignitaries expressed confidence that this new court will provide a platform for school and college students to excel in the modern sport of pickleball. They believe that more youth will turn to this sport in the future, creating professional-level opportunities.
