OPD Patient Load Rises at Kalwa’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Hospital.

The Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Hospital in Kalwa, under the Thane Municipal Corporation, is witnessing a sharp rise in patients visiting its Outpatient Department (OPD). On average, over 2,200 patients are being treated daily, with nearly 450 receiving direct medical attention. Most of these patients come from rural areas seeking treatment for various seasonal and chronic ailments.

Officials noted that the increase in cases is due to a rise in seasonal illnesses such as fever, cold, cough, and viral infections, along with regular health concerns like blood pressure, diabetes, and skin issues. The hospital’s emergency and medicine departments are seeing the highest footfall.

In response, the hospital administration has taken proactive steps by deploying an adequate number of doctors and support staff. The hospital is also providing medicines to admitted patients as needed.

The hospital management confirmed that the rise in patient numbers has not affected the quality of care. All necessary facilities and resources have been made available to ensure efficient healthcare services.
