Landslide in Kachore Damages Several Houses.

A landslide in Kachore, eastern Kalyan, damaged five to six houses on Sunday morning. Fortunately, no casualties were reported. According to reports, heavy rainfall over the past two days softened the soil behind the houses in the Techdivra area. This caused the land to slide, leading to cracks and structural damage to several homes. Authorities quickly evacuated residents, preventing any loss of life. Locals reported that the soil erosion was severe, threatening nearby houses. Hema Mukharker, Assistant Commissioner of Ward C, stated that the affected houses were in a landslide-prone zone on the border of F- and P-wards. Before the rains, temporary support walls were built, but the continuous downpour weakened them. Residents spotted cracks in one house wall and the adjacent land. This alerted them in time, and the risky section was demolished to avoid a disaster.
