Crossing Tracks? Death Awaits at 16 Danger Zones.

Railway deaths rise from Thane to Titwala due to illegal crossing.

From Thane to Titwala, there are 16 deadly railway spots where people cross tracks illegally, risking their lives. These “death spots” have seen a rise in accidents, often fatal. One recent case involved a woman and her colleague who died while crossing the tracks near a station.

Most people cross to save time or avoid long footbridges, but it leads to serious danger. Areas near temples, markets, and schools see the highest number of illegal crossings. Despite repeated appeals and awareness drives, the public continues to ignore the risks.

Rail officials report over 300 such cases between April and June this year. Places like Dombivli, Diva, Kalwa, and Kopar are top hotspots. Local demands for footbridges and fencing have been made but remain pending.

Authorities are urging commuters to use proper crossing facilities. If ignored, even a moment’s carelessness can lead to tragedy.
