Despite repeated warnings, the structure was not vacated, posing a threat to the lives of people living nearby. 50 Buildings Under Action Municipal authorities had earlier ordered demolition of unsafe buildings and had begun marking such structures. However, due to negligence, many old and dangerous buildings still stand. Recently, a list of 50 high-risk buildings has been prepared, and action against them is underway. Officials have urged residents to vacate unsafe buildings immediately. Demolition drives will continue to prevent future mishaps. This incident has once again highlighted the urgent need for action against unsafe structures in the city.
A trailer truck met with an accident on the Mumbai-Nashik highway near Bhiwandi on Friday due to large potholes. The incident happened close to the Chinchpada junction, where one part of the trailer broke off due to the impact, while another part continued moving for a short distance before stopping.
The truck was carrying scrap metal to Odisha when the accident took place. The potholes caused the truck to become unstable and split. Although the accident caused traffic congestion for some time, thankfully, no one was injured.
