Free Bus Travel for Konkan-Bound Workers During Ganesh Festival.

3,000 ST Buses Deployed for Devotees’ Convenience.

To help thousands of workers returning to their hometowns in Konkan for the Ganesh festival, the State Transport (ST) department has announced free bus services. This initiative is supported by various political parties who have booked group tickets for devotees.

The Ganesh festival begins on August 26. Special arrangements have been made to ensure smooth travel during this festive period. Last year, heavy traffic and high fares troubled many travelers. To avoid such issues, the government has introduced 3,000 additional buses this year.

Special Bus Routes
Buses will run to Chiplun, Ratnagiri, Malvan, Kankavli, Sawantwadi, Kudal, Vengurla, Devgad, and nearby villages. Passengers can board from Thane, Panvel, Kalyan, Dombivli, and Navi Mumbai.

Benefits for Workers
Workers travelling to their villages will save money and time, and the free service will ensure they reach home safely for the celebrations.

ST officials confirmed that the number of buses may be increased further if required. This move has been welcomed by the public and is expected to make the festival travel hassle-free.
