Water Supply Cut to Illegal Buildings in Diva

14 Illegal Connections Disconnected, 10 Pumps Seized, 11 Borewells Closed

Acting on the High Court’s orders, the Thane Municipal Corporation has intensified its action against illegal buildings and ongoing unauthorized constructions. Earlier, the supply of electricity to such structures was stopped. Now, the focus has shifted to cutting off their water connections.

In a special drive, officials disconnected 14 illegal water connections in the Diva area. Additionally, 10 motor pumps were seized, and 11 unauthorized borewells were sealed. The municipal commissioner, Saurabh Rao, directed that water supply to illegal constructions must be immediately discontinued, and all illegal connections should be removed without delay.

During this drive, municipal teams inspected documents related to the water connections. If the construction was found illegal, the connection was immediately cut. The Water Department has been instructed to act swiftly against any unauthorized setups.

This operation will continue, with the next round scheduled in committee areas 25 and 26, where more illegal water connections are expected to be disconnected soon.
