Despite Spending Lakhs, Funerals Held Under Leaky Roof.

In Chariv village, Shahapur taluka, lakhs of rupees were spent on the beautification of the cremation ground. However, the roof of the shed at the cremation site is in poor condition, forcing mourners to use plastic sheets for shelter during funeral ceremonies. This has raised safety and dignity concerns among villagers. Citizens allege that due to the broken roof, funerals have to be conducted under temporary tarpaulin sheets, especially during rains. They have criticized the local administration for failing to maintain the facility despite huge expenditure. The village panchayat claims funds were allocated, yet the roof remains damaged. Residents demand immediate repairs, stating that the current condition dishonors the deceased and causes inconvenience to families. The damaged shed has become a symbol of administrative neglect, and villagers are urging authorities to take swift action to restore the cremation site.
