Forest Department Prepares for Wildlife Census
The Forest Department has started counting wild animals during the Vaishakh full moon. For this, observation posts (machans) and trap cameras have been set up in forest areas, including sanctuaries. Officers and volunteers are monitoring animals at water sources day and night. Last year, species like hyena, jackal, mongoose, porcupine, and civet were spotted. This year, due to cloudy weather, the counting will happen during the full moon’s light. Special platforms near water bodies help in observing wildlife activity closely..0
