A building in Thane’s Khopat area develops cracks; 11 families evacuated

On Thursday, Thane’s Regional Disaster Management Cell (RDMC) vacated a 20-year-old building located in Khopat, Sai Anand Apartment, which developed cracks. It is a four-storey building having nine rooms and three shops. As per the reports, the building was on the verge of collapsing and had developed big cracks.  The 11 families residing in that building were evacuated and the people from the adjacent chawls were also shifted to a Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC)-run school.
