Kharigaon Bridge to Slash Travel Time From Monday
The Mumbai-Nashik Highway is set to become past-faced. The highway has been plagued for years by traffic congestion, potholes, and monsoon-related hurdles. The new flyover over the Kharigaon Creek will also provide a boost to the Samruddhi Mahamarg. The aim is to shorten the travel time, and reduce consumption of fuel. The risk of accidents will be reduced due to availability of independent lanes.
With the removal of these hurdles and completion of the Kharigaon Creek flyover, the entire route will be a eight-lane highway spanning from Kharigaon Toll Naka to Anjur Phata. Administrative expectations suggest the route will officially open for traffic this coming Monday or Tuesday.
The new bridge has been built with proper height and drainage systems, there is confidence that traffic will remain smooth even during the rainy season. The opening of the Kharigaon bridge makes the Thane-Bhiwandi-Samruddhi Highway journey faster and more reliable.
