The Speed Trap Crisis

The ST bus drivers are being fined lakhs of rupees by the RTO since the speedometers on old buses have stopped working.

The places that give the most economic profit to the Thane ST division are Swargate, Pune station, Satara, Kolhapur, Sangli. The RTO is fining ST drivers lakhs of rupees on the Yashwantrao Chavan Expressway. These fines are being deducted from the drivers’ salaries.

A fine of about 20 lakhs has been imposed on 21 drivers in Wada depot. A fine of 30 lakhs has been imposed on 20 drivers in Khopat depot. The drivers have finally run to the Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari.
