India-Australia meet for dress rehearsal before the ICC Women’s World Cup

With just over a couple of weeks to go for the ICC Women’s World Cup to be hosted in India and Sri Lanka, India and Australia play a three-match ODI series. The first and second ODIs will be played on September 14 and September 17 at New Chandigarh, and the third and final ODI will be played on September 20 in Delhi.

India and Australia have played 56 ODIs against each other, of which India have won 10 and Australia have won 46. In India, Australia dominates the head-to-head battle 20-4.

Harmanpreet Kaur: The captain of India is fresh from a successful ODI series against England. The right-handed middle order batter, scored 126 runs in three matches, including a century and led her team to a 2-1 series win. The 36-year-old will feature in her 150th ODI, when she takes on Australia next.

 

Deepti Sharma: She is world number four in ICC women’s ODI all-rounder’s rankings. In 109 ODIs, this left-handed middle order batter has mustered 2392 runs. With her disciplined off spin bowling, she has scalped 136 wickets.

 

Alyssa Healy: The captain of Australia enjoys batting against India. The wicket-keeper and right-handed opening batter averages 42 in 16 ODIs that she has played against India. She has three fifties and a century against the Women in Blue.

 

Ashleigh Gardner: This right-handed batter and right-arm off spinner of Australia is the world number one ODI all-rounder. She has registered over 1200 runs and claimed 100+ wickets in 77 ODIs. She is a genuine match winner and can single handedly win matches for her team with either bat or ball.
