Awhad’s Supporters Join BJP in Large Numbers

Thane: A big group of supporters of Sharad Pawar’s close aide, MLA Jitendra Awhad, joined the BJP on Sunday. The induction took place in the presence of senior BJP leaders, giving the party a major boost in Thane’s political landscape.

Many former corporators and local leaders who were earlier with NCP switched sides along with Awhad’s loyal followers. They expressed their trust in BJP’s leadership while also showing continued support for Awhad.

Awhad, who had won the 2012 civic elections from Savarkar Nagar ward, has built a strong base in Thane. His supporters joining BJP is seen as a strategic move ahead of upcoming elections.

Local BJP leaders welcomed the new entrants, stating that this would strengthen the party at the grassroots level. They also urged workers to increase citizen outreach.
