Monthly Attendance Allowance for Girls in Mira-Bhayandar Municipal Schools.
The Women and Child Welfare Department has decided to provide a monthly attendance allowance of ₹300 to girl students from classes 8 to 10 who are regularly attending municipal schools registered under the HRP (Hajeri Patra) system.
Aim to Reduce Dropout Rates
The initiative has been introduced to reduce dropout rates among girls and encourage parents to send their daughters to school regularly. Municipal Commissioner Ayush Prasad announced that this scheme will apply only to girls from municipal secondary schools.
Direct Benefit Transfer
The allowance will be given based on attendance during the academic year, which includes around 220 school days. Eligible students will receive ₹300 per month directly into their bank accounts through the DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer) system.
The scheme will be implemented on a pilot basis from August 2025 to July 2026. Officials believe this move will significantly improve attendance rates among girl students in municipal schools.
