Congress Protests in Thane

The Central Government’s decision to hike the prices of both domestic and commercial gas cylinders has sparked widespread opposition. Following instructions from the Maharashtra Pradesh Congress President Nana Patole, the Thane City Congress, led by City President Vikrant Chavan, organised a protest on Thursday near the District Collector’s office, by the statue of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar.

Various officers, members of the Congress of Women and the Youth Congress, participated in the protests. Vikrant Chavan stated that the government has not only hiked prices but also extended the waiting period for cylinder bookings. This is impacting every household in the country, especially those already struggling with inflation.
