Zee Entertainment sneak a 1-run win over PWD Thane in the 48th Thanevaibhav Inter Office Cricket Tournament
In a nail-biting thriller, Zee Entertainment beat PWD Thane by one run on Wednesday at Central Maidan in the 48th Thanevaibhav Inter Office Cricket Tournament.
Batting first, Zee Entertainment were bowled out for 163 in 30 overs. Prathamesh Kadu top scored with 43 runs from 57 balls, including four fours. Besides Kadu, wicket-keeper-batter Rupesh Manjrekar (24 runs from 29 balls) and Sheet Rambhia (29 runs from 25 balls) were the other major contributors with the bat. On the other hand, N.M. Pawar was the most successful bowler for PWD Thane as he scalped three wickets.
In reply, PWD Thane almost chased the total, however they fell shy of just one run in the end. Gaurav Deshmukh was the leading run scorer as he mustered an unbeaten 31 from 37 balls, including four fours. The opening pair of Pravin Shirsath (29 runs from 47 balls) and Umesh Rathod (22 runs from 25 balls) provided a steady start but could not play a big innings to take their team home. Zee Entertainment’s Rambhia impressed with the ball too as he claimed three wickets.
