Thane Civic Employees to Receive Arrears by March 30

Mayor Sharmila Pimpalkar announced during the budget general body meeting that officials and employees of the Thane Municipal Corporation will receive their third installment of the 7th Pay Commission arrears.

The 7th Pay Commission implementation resulted in a salary hike of 12-15% for employees. However, the arrears accumulated over the previous six years were scheduled for payment in five installments.

The Thane Municipal Transport Service employees are set to receive three installments at once to cover their dues. The funds are scheduled to be deposited into the bank accounts of current employees, transport workers, and retired employees by March 30.

Two installments had been paid previously. There was growing staff dissatisfaction due to the delay in the remaining payments, which led to this recent resolution.
