Sheetal Khartamal Wins Bronze in Asian Sumo Wrestling

Thane Rural Police Officer Brings Glory to the Force.

Sheetal Khartamal, from Thane Rural Police Headquarters, achieved a historic milestone by winning the bronze medal at the Asian Sumo Wrestling Championship held in Bangkok.

Khartamal has also been selected to represent India at the World Combat Games scheduled to take place in Kyrgyzstan next year. Congratulating her on this achievement, Indian Sumo Wrestling Federation President Yatish Bangera, Secretary Chandrashekhar Shinde, and coach Ajay Sable extended their best wishes for her future endeavors.

Serving in the Thane Rural Police since 2010, Khartamal has an outstanding sporting record. She has represented India 29 times and secured 76 gold, 46 silver, and 16 bronze medals in various competitions. Originally from Solapur, she completed her schooling at Shri Siddheshwar Kanya Prashala and later studied at Walchand Arts and Commerce College, Solapur. A third-degree black belt in martial arts, she has also received 46 government and semi-government awards for her excellence.

Her latest success not only highlights her dedication to sports but also adds pride to the Thane Rural Police force.
