Metro Line 9 Goes Live This Friday
BJP MLA Narendra Mehta shared on social media that the first phase of the Dahisar-Bhayandar Metro Corridor-9 has been finalised. Deputy Chairman Devendra Fadnavis will inaugurate the service on April 3.
The metro received an approval in 2017, with an original target to start services by 2022. Last week, Shiv Sena (Shinde group) leader and Minister Pratap Sarnaik inspected the Kashigaon Metro Station and claimed that the metro services will begin in April.
The entire route is 11.38 km long with a total of eight stations. The service will initially start on a 4.5 km stretch covering 4 stations. Metro Line 9 is connected to Metro Corridor 7 and Metro 2A. Once line 9 is operational, all three rail lines will be linked. This will provide a direct metro-connected route from Mira-Bhayandar to both Andheri East and West.
Minister Sarniak mentioned that approximately 50,000 passengers are expected to travel on this route daily. There is also a possibility that the second phase of the project will be operational by the end of this year.
