Legal Status for Public Land Sites

Movements have begun to make government-owned buildings in Patlipada-Dongripada, which are 50 to 60 years old, more stable. Around 20,000 residents are set to receive relief due to the positive response from the Revenue Minister and the District Collector. MLA Sanjay Kelkar had raised this issue in the assembly and followed up with the authorities.

The residents of Patlipada-Dongripada have been paying taxes since the Gram Panchayat era, and TMC has provided them with various facilities. These families were left distressed after the district administration recently issued eviction notices, claiming the land to be a government plot. MLA Sanjay Kelkar raised their grievances in the assembly and demanded regularisation of these constructions under Section 51 after holding discussions with Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule and the Thane District Collector.

Dharamveer Nagar Issues: The report also states that BSUP buildings in Dharmveer Nagar are in poor condition. Following a recent elevator collapse that injured residents, officials have been instructed to begin urgent repairs.

Labor and Staff Concerns: MLA Kelkar noted that many contract workers are not receiving insurance benefits because contractors failed to provide coverage. Other issues discussed included pending payments under the 7th Pay Commission, appointments, and teachers’ issues.

During a public interaction programme titled “Jansevakacha Jansanvad” held at the BJP office in Khopat, MLA Sanjay Kelkar shared this information with the media. Corporators Suresh Kamble and Deepak Jadhav were present at the event.
