India aims to level the women’s ODI series against Australia

Smriti Mandhana: The world number one ODI batter in women’s cricket scored 58 runs off 63 balls before being run out in the first ODI against Australia. The Indian vice-captain smashed half a dozen fours and two sixes in her entertaining innings. The left-hander stitched a 114-run opening partnership with Pratika Rawal.

Sneh Rana: The right-arm off-spinner of India was the pick of the bowlers in the first ODI against Australia. She opened the bowling with Kranti Goud and picked one wicket for 51 runs in 10 overs. She was one of the two wicket-takers for India in that match. She was also the most economical bowler.

Phoebe Litchfield: The left-handed opening batter top scored for Australia in the first ODI against India. She hammered 88 runs off 80 balls, including 14 fours. She enjoyed a couple of lifelines, on 0 and 56, and made the Indians pay a heavy price. She won the player of the match award for her brilliant batting performance.

Megan Schutt: The Australian pace sensation who played her 100th ODI on Sunday scalped two wickets giving away 45 runs in seven overs. The right-arm quick, who opened the bowling, went wicketless in the first powerplay but struck twice in the last to stem the run flow of Indian innings, which at one point was looking set to reach the 300-run mark.
