Cyclone ‘Shakti’ Heads Towards Oman Coast, Impact on Maharashtra Coast Expected

A cyclone named ‘Shakti’ is currently moving towards the coast of Oman. According to the India Meteorological Department, the cyclone is expected to impact the coastal areas of Maharashtra, particularly Mumbai, Thane, Palghar, Raigad, Ratnagiri, and Sindhudurg, between October 4 and October 8.

Heavy rainfall is predicted for parts of Konkan and coastal Maharashtra. However, Vidarbha and Marathwada regions are less likely to experience heavy rains.

The cyclone formed in the Arabian Sea and is expected to move towards Oman by October 7. Fishermen have been advised to avoid going out to sea due to rough conditions. Authorities are on alert for safety and managing potential disruptions in the affected districts.
