Community Impact Highlights by Rotary Club of Thane City (Main)

Hepatitis B Vaccination:  The drive was done in three phases as per the medical requirement on July 28 and August 30, 2025 and January 28, 2026. In each phase, Hepatitis B Vaccination was administered to 100 nurses and ward boys working at Shivaji Hospital, Kalwa.

Adolescent Awareness Health Education (AAHE): The Adolescent Awareness Health Education session held on September 8 2025, was conducted to guide students through the transitional phase of adolescence. The programme aimed to clear common misconceptions, promote healthy lifestyle choices, and foster a supportive environment for open dialogue. The students openly participated in the discussions and expressed themselves clearly.

 

Donation to Amey Palak Sanghatana (February 28, 2026): Led by First Lady Ann Rhucha Vartak, seven members of the club visited Gharkul, a dedicated home for special children managed by the Ameya Palak Sanghatana. The visit was organised to spend meaningful time with the children, support their daily activities, and extend financial assistance to the facility. The Club donated ₹15,000/- for the maintenance of Gharkul.

Donation to Snehavan (March 3, 2026): Club President Girish Vartak, First Lady Rhucha Vartak and Kalyani Kale visited Snehavan, near Pune. The club donated ₹25,000/- to this institution for assisting in managing routine expenses of the organisation. Snehavan has multiple labs, technical training facilities, in-house kitchen, dormitories and such other facilities for children aged between 10-16 years. These children are typically orphaned whose farmer parents have committed suicide due to financial debts.

Yashaache Panchtantra (March 30, 2026): An empowering youth development session was conducted for the students of Dnyanpeeth Vidyalaya. The programme was designed to equip young minds with essential life skills and mental tools necessary for personal and academic excellence.

Hygiene Project (May 9, 2026): New girls’ toilet facilities were officially handed over to the school, a project aimed at reducing dropout rates among female students who previously lacked proper sanitation. The construction was entirely funded through ₹4,00,000 raised by Rtn Ramakrishnan Subramaniam and Ann Seema Ramakrishnan, who championed the cause by running marathons.
