India-West Indies series levelled 1-1; Who will have the last laugh?

India Women suffered a crushing defeat at the hands of West Indies Women on Tuesday in Navi Mumbai in the second T20I. After setting a target of 160, the hosts failed to defend the score. The tourists chased the total in 15.4 overs and won the match by nine wickets to level the series 1-1.

The third and the final T20I of the series will be played at Dr DY Patil Sports Academy in Navi Mumbai on Thursday.

Players to watch out

Smriti Mandhana: The stand-in captain for India in the second T20I against West Indies struck her second consecutive half-century in this T20I series. This left-handed opening batter smashed 62 runs off 41 balls, including nine fours and a six.

Richa Ghosh: The wicket-keeper-batter of India played a tantalising cameo in the second T20I against West Indies. Coming in at number six, the right-handed batter bludgeoned 32 runs from 17 balls, including half a dozen fours.

Hayley Matthews: The captain of West Indies dazzled with bat and ball in the second T20I against India. The right-handed opening batter hammered an unbeaten 85 off just 47 balls, including 17 fours. With the ball, the off spinner claimed two wickets. She won the player of the match award for her outstanding all-round performance.

Deandra Dottin: This West Indian all-rounder impressed with the new ball striking in the second over. In total, the right-arm seamer conceded just 14 runs in her four-over spell and snapped two wickets in the second T20I against India. She was the most economical bowler for her side. Besides, though she didn’t get the chance to bat, she has the reputation of being a devastating batter.
