India and New Zealand face off in the decider

Having lost the first ODI, New Zealand romped to a 76-run win over India in the second ODI on Sunday in Ahmedabad to level the three-match ODI series 1-1. The third and the final ODI between the two teams will be played on Tuesday at the same venue.

Players to watch out

 

Radha Yadav: This left-arm spinner of India picked four wickets in the second ODI against New Zealand. So far in this series, she has seven wickets under her belt. Besides her bowling, she played a useful hand with the bat in the previous match as she scored 48 runs from 64 balls.

Harmanpreet Kaur: The Indian captain got off to a steady start in the second ODI against New Zealand. She mustered 24 runs from 35 balls. She will be expected to hold the team’s middle order together.

Sophie Devine: Harmanpreet Kaur’s opposite number and New Zealand’s captain had a terrific day with bat and ball in the second ODI against India. She muscled 79 runs from 86 balls and then picked three wickets for 27 runs in 7.1 overs. She won the player of the match award for her all-round performance.

Lea Tahuhu: New Zealand’s right-arm speedster provided a perfect start to her team’s defence as she got rid of the dangerous Smriti Mandhana in the very first over of the second ODI. She claimed a total of three wickets conceding 42 runs in 10 overs, including one maiden.
