Group B favourites England look to continue their dominance over Bangladesh

The sixth match of the ninth edition of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup will be played between inaugural champions England and Bangladesh on Saturday at Sharjah Cricket Stadium. While Bangladesh have made a positive start to their World Cup campaign by beating Scotland, England will play their first match of this edition. England and Bangladesh are in Group B alongside West Indies, South Africa, and Scotland.

England and Bangladesh have played three T20Is against each other, and England have won all. All three matches were played as a part of ICC Women’s T20 World Cup.

Players to watch out

Natalie Sciver-Brunt: This dashing all-rounder of England can win her team matches with either bat or ball. She is a solid middle order batter and a genuine right-arm medium pacer. In 122 T20Is, she has scored 2513 runs and picked 86 wickets.  

Sophie Ecclestone: This left-arm spinner of England is world number one T20I bowler as per the current ICC rankings. In this calendar year, she has scalped 17 wickets in 10 T20Is at an economy of under six runs per over.

Sobhana Mostary: This right-handed top-order batter of Bangladesh was the leading run scorer for her side in the previous encounter against Scotland. Batting at number three, she mustered 36 from 38, including two fours.

Ritu Moni: She is one of the most experienced all-rounders of Bangladesh. In the previous match against Scotland, this right-arm medium pacer claimed 2/15 in four overs. Besides her bowling, she can contribute with the bat in the middle order.
