Dombivli’s Aayush Ambekar selected for MCA U16 Payyade Trophy
Aayush Ambekar has been selected for Mumbai Cricket Association’s (MCA) U16 Payyade Trophy. He is a leg spinner and a top-order batter, who has had a good season so far, winning the player of the match award during the Kalpesh Koli tournament (MCA U16 selection tournament). He picked six wickets in that match.
Aayush trains at Cricket Explained Cricket Academy in Dombivli under Hrishikesh Puranik. His coach says, “Aayush has been training at my academy since the age of nine. He is our scholarship player. Though he started his cricket as a fast bowler, I spotted his talent and skill, which could make him a great leg spinner. We practise for six hours daily. Besides, I made him play alongside senior boys to develop match temperament.”
With his selection for the MCA U16 Payyade Trophy, Aayush Ambekar is among the top 60 players of Mumbai at the U16 level.
