Facing Joint and Back Pain in 20s
With increasing screen time and long hours spent sitting, bone and joint issues are no longer limited to older age groups. According to Dr Piyush Jadhao, problems such as back pain, joint stiffness, neck strain, and early wear and tear are now becoming common even among people in their 20s and 30s. Poor posture, lack of physical activity, obesity, stress, and sudden intense workouts without proper conditioning are some of the major reasons behind this shift.
Specialising in sports injuries and robotic joint replacement, Dr Jadhao believes orthopaedics today goes beyond surgery and focuses equally on prevention and awareness. He highlights that simple habits such as regular walking, stretching, maintaining proper posture, and strengthening muscles can significantly help in protecting bone and joint health.
He also addresses the common belief around cracking knuckles, explaining that occasional cracking is generally harmless unless accompanied by pain, swelling, or stiffness. In today’s fast-paced routines, everyday movement has become more important than ever for maintaining long-term mobility and joint health.
