Thane’s Khopat ST Depot Levels Up
The Khopat ST (State Transport) Depot in Thane has significantly improved passenger facilities, raising its overall quality standards. In the previous three surveys done by the State Transport Corporation, the Khopat depot received an average score of 83 points in the Mumbai division, securing the fourth rank. Expectations are high that the depot will clinch the third rank in this year’s survey.
Key improvements and Initiatives under the guidance of Divisional Controller Sagar Padmule and Mechanical Engineer Vivek Londhe:
Banners showcasing the history of ST buses have been installed on every platform. A tree plantation drive is being implemented through public participation. A beautiful garden has been developed as part of a birthday-themed plantation project.
Passenger Amenities:
- Updated schedules and clean, accessible toilets.
- Drinking water facilities and a passenger library.
- ‘Hirkani Kaksh’ A dedicated room for breastfeeding mothers.
- Platform-specific signage showing us destinations
A cleanliness drive is conducted at the station every Friday. Hot water and AC facilities have been provided in the staff rest rooms. Public announcement systems for ST staff and other information have also been initiated.
