Aradhana raises ‘Iconix’ Gudi

Aradhana Talkies embraced a contemporary aesthetic after witnessing the golden age of Bollywood cinema in Thane fifty years ago, on the auspicious occasion of Gudi Padwa. Iconix will now appease the “Aradhana” (devotion) of movie buffs.

Founded in 1976, the former Aradhana Cinema is located in Thane’s Naupada neighborhood. It was well-known at the time for showing important Bollywood movies. Local fans were really delighted by the emergence of numerous blockbuster hits. But in 2003, movie screenings at the theater ceased. However, it has recently undergone renovations and is now available under the new name Iconix Cinema, complete with a new look.

The new Iconix features two screens: Screen 1 with 171 seats and Screen 2 with 193 seats. It has a fully digital box office and a cutting-edge sound system. A cafe with pizza, burgers, momos, popcorn, coffee, tea, nachos, and more has been opened for foodies. The building includes commercial shops, offices, and parking.

The concept and design were provided by the renowned Thane architect, Moloy Bakshi.
