Thane Leaders Unite Against Mayor Post: MNS and MVA Join Hands

Ahead of Municipal Elections, Parties Plan Joint Action on Issues
In Thane, leaders from the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) and the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) have come together against the mayoral post in the upcoming local civic body elections. The decision followed a meeting between MNS leader Raj Thackeray and MVA’s Uddhav Thackeray on Sunday afternoon, where both discussed strategies for 40 minutes. A follow-up meeting is planned for Monday at 11 AM.

The move comes amid tensions over the mayoral seat in Thane’s local elections, where BJP-Shiv Sena had previously clashed. Senior MVA leaders are focusing on targeting specific goals in the current political landscape. MNS is also working to strengthen its organization. The meeting, held at NCP leader Jitendra Awhad’s residence in ‘Nad’ area, discussed strategies for the upcoming elections. Awhad’s social media posts indicate MNS and MVA are likely to collaborate in Thane against the mayoral post, signaling the start of a joint campaign.
