Heavy Vehicles Banned in Thane from 6 AM to Midnight

To ease traffic congestion, Thane Police have announced strict restrictions on heavy vehicles. From now on, trucks and other large vehicles will not be allowed to enter the city between 6 AM and 12 midnight.

The order aims to reduce traffic jams during peak hours and ensure smooth movement for daily commuters. Heavy vehicles will only be permitted at night, after midnight, when traffic is lighter.

The restrictions apply to vehicles coming from Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Bhiwandi, Nashik, and other routes entering Thane. Trucks and similar vehicles found violating the rules will face strict action.

Police officials stated that this step was necessary due to rising vehicle numbers, which often led to long traffic snarls. The new arrangement is expected to bring relief to residents, especially during office hours, and improve overall traffic flow in the city
