Maharashtra Gets Its First Modern School Van in Thane

Thane has become home to the first modern school van in Maharashtra. The school administration decided to introduce this service for transporting students safely. The van is equipped with GPS tracking and CCTV cameras for security. It meets the new guidelines set by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways for school transportation.

The school, which has been closed for the past seven years due to not meeting required standards, has now started the process of obtaining necessary permissions. Transport Minister Pratap Sarnaik is overseeing the implementation of new guidelines for school buses.

A meeting was held with parents and representatives of bus operators. It was decided that school vans must follow the safety norms laid by the government. The state government has given approval to the school van on the lines of central government guidelines. The transport department has been asked to issue a permit for the van by 3 PM.
