Grihitha hoists the national flag on India’s 3rd highest island peak

Grihitha Vichare (9), a student of SVPT Ghodbunder, created yet another record as she became the youngest Indian woman to scale Mt. Kinabalu, the highest mountain in Borneo and Malaysia.

Known as Maharashtra’s Hirakani, Grihitha started her expedition on January 23 from Timpohon Gate in Borneo and completed it on January 26 at 7:30 am. On the occasion of India’s 75th Republic Day, she hoisted the national flag, marking the end of her expedition. She also unfurled the saffron colour Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj flag.

Mt. Kinabalu, with an elevation of 4,095 meters (13,435 ft), is the third-highest island peak on Earth.
