The sixth match of the WPL 2024 will be played between Mumbai Indians and UP Warriorz on February 27 at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. It will be the third match for both teams. While the champions of WPL 2023, Mumbai Indians, have made a solid start to their WPL 2024 campaign by winning two of two matches, UP Warriorz are yet to register a win this season.

Players to watch out for

Harmanpreet Kaur: The Mumbai Indians’ captain has looked in good touch in the first two matches of WPL 2024. In the first match against Delhi Capitals, she played a match-winning innings of 55 from 34 and bagged the player of the match award. She scored an unbeaten 46 against Gujarat Giants in her second match to see her side home.

Shabnim Ismail: The right-arm pace sensation of Mumbai Indians has bowled well with the new ball inside the powerplay. She bowls at a good pace and can trouble any batter with her probing line and length. She has scalped four wickets in her two outings so far.

Shweta Sehrawat: The 20-year-old middle-order batter of UP Warriorz has been the top run scorer for her team in two matches. She mustered 76 runs at an average of 41 and a strike rate of 121. Batting at number five, she has been stabilising the faltering innings of her side, which has lost early wickets in the two matches played so far.

Sophie Ecclestone: This left-arm spinner from England is the world’s number one T20I bowler in women’s T20Is and ODIs. While there is seldom any doubt about her potential and credibility, she has not yet been able to stamp her authority this season. In two matches, she has claimed two wickets. However, UP Warriorz will want their star bowler, who can bowl in any phase of the innings, to deliver her best.
