WPL 2024 Match 12: Delhi Capitals vs Mumbai Indians | Squads | Players to watch | Pitch | Weather | Live streaming

Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals, the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2023 finalists, will meet for the second time this season on Tuesday as the competition moves to Delhi’s Arun Jaitley Stadium for the last half. They played their first match of this edition on February 23, and the Mumbai Indians emerged victorious. Harmanpreet Kaur won the player of the match award. Her availability is subject to her recovery from the injury, which has kept her out of the last two matches.

Both teams have played a total of four matches and won three of them. They share an equal number of points, but because of a better net run rate, Delhi Capitals are ahead of Mumbai Indians in the points table.

Players to watch out

Yastika Bhatia: Mumbai Indians’ left-handed opening batter is the top run scorer for her team with 121 runs in four matches at an average of 30 and strike rate of 136. She also has a half-century to her name, which came against Delhi Capitals in their first-round match. Behind the stumps, she has excellent and has six dismissals under her belt.

Amelia Kerr: Mumbai Indians’ all-rounder has had a good run with bat and ball in the four matches of this WPL 2024. This leg spinner has claimed seven wickets, including one four-wicket haul and has scored 118 runs, including the best of 40 not out.

Meg Lanning: The captain of Delhi Capitals has mustered 148 runs in four matches, including two half-centuries. This right-handed opening batter has been responsible for giving good starts to her team, and her captaincy has been phenomenal, too.

Jess Jonassen: The left-arm spinner of Delhi Capitals did not feature in the first two matches, but when she got a chance in the next two, she grabbed the opportunity with both hands. She has picked six wickets at an average of just seven and an economy of 5.38. She is also handy with the bat lower down the order.

Pitch

The venue hosted six women’s T20Is, all played in 2016. Of the six matches, teams batting second have won four. The highest total scored here is 132, and the lowest is 77. Scoring runs here may not be that easy. Expect the bowlers to have a big role to play.

Weather

Given the ongoing winter season in India, Delhi, which is to the north, will be a lot cooler. Expect temperatures to drop to about 15 degrees Celsius. Humidity will be 39%. There will be no cloud cover and no chance of rain.
