Players to watch out
Smriti Mandhana: India’s vice-captain has been in red hot form. In the recently concluded South Africa series, this left-handed opening batter registered 592 runs across six innings. She is a vastly experienced cricketer having featured in 136 T20Is and scored 3320 runs at a strike rate of 122.
Pooja Vastrakar: This right-arm medium pacer of India won the player of the series award in the recently concluded three-match T20I series against South Africa. She scalped eight wickets, including a four-fer. Besides her bowling, she can play the role of a pinch hitter in the lower order.
Sidra Amin: The right-handed opening batter of Pakistan has been playing international cricket since 2011. In 51 T20I innings, she has muscled 893 runs, including four half-centuries. Her recent record has been good with 248 runs in last nine T20Is.
Nida Dar: The captain of Pakistan is the most experienced T20I player in the team with 149 matches under her belt. Being a right-handed middle-order batter and an off-spinner, she is one of the best all-rounders. She has 140 wickets and 1933 runs to her name in T20I cricket.
Pitch
It will be the second match of the day at this venue. Before this tournament, the venue hosted three women’s T20Is with all of them being played in 2022. The teams batting second have won two of the three matches. The highest total scored here is 141 and the lowest is 104. The conditions could be favourable for batting as a fresh pitch is expected to be used for this tournament.
