WNS Global Service ‘A’ pips Aruprit Tigers by 4 wickets in the 48th Thanevaibhav Inter Office Cricket Tournament

Captain Shivam Jaiswal and Ashutosh Ghagre fashioned the four-wicket win of WNS Global Service ‘A’ over Aruprit Tigers on Friday at the Central Maidan in Thane during the 48th Thanevaibhav Inter Office Cricket Tournament.

Chasing 180 for a win, WNS Global Service ‘A’ overhauled the target in 32.3 overs with four wickets in hand. Jaiswal led the run chase from the front, scoring a fluent 71 from 67 balls, including seven fours and two sixes. His captain’s innings was well-complimented by Ketan Kharat (37 runs from 46 balls) and Ghagre (32 not out from 15 balls). While Ritesh Darade and Simant Dubey scalped three and two wickets, respectively, they could not restrict WNS Global Service ‘A’ from achieving the target.

In the first innings, Aruprit Tigers posted 179/9 in 35 overs, riding on stellar half-centuries from opening batter Tushar Chate (69 runs from 83 balls) and captain Siddhesh Gavande (66 runs from 63 balls). However, their half-centuries went in vain as the score was not too good for WNS Global Service ‘A’. Before shining with the bat, Ghagre and Jaiswal impressed with the ball, claiming three and one wickets each. Tasmay Chavan chipped in three wickets and was one of the most successful bowlers for his team.
